Tarakeswar Degree College saw the light of the day in 1986 in the rural area of the Hooghly district in West Bengal, some 60 kilometers off from Kolkata. People here are mostly cultivators having agrarian mindset and activities. To bring them under the light of education and culture this college was set up that offered only general curriculum to 48 students now multiplied in Arts & Commerce streams.
